Awaiting Cabinet Approval
While public curiosity is high, the design of the new currency notes remains confidential. The SBP clarified that images circulating online are from a past art competition and do not reflect the final look of the new banknotes.
The redesigned notes are part of Pakistan’s effort to upgrade security features, improve anti-counterfeit measures, and modernize the currency system.
Why It Matters
The new currency notes design Pakistan has approved is expected to bring enhanced visual appeal, stronger authentication elements, and technological updates. Experts believe this change aligns with international trends in currency design and demonstrates the SBP’s commitment to financial reform.
Officials emphasized that once cabinet approval is granted, a nationwide rollout plan will be announced, including details about denominations, security elements, and public awareness campaigns.
